SEVEN YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT WITH FINE OF RS.1.5 LAKH TO THEN INCOME TAX OFFICER IN A BRIBERY CASE
The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Dehradun has today convicted Shri Dinesh Kumar, then Income Tax Officer, Pithoragarh (Uttarakhand) in a bribery case and sentenced him to undergo seven years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.1.5 lakh.
CBI had registered a case on the allegations that Shri Dinesh Kumar, Pithoragarh had demanded a bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the complainant for settlement of his tax case and giving benefit of Rs.2,70,000/- to him.
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed on 29.12.2009 while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the complainant.
After investigation, a chargesheet was filed U/s 7 & 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of P.C.Act, 1988 against Shri Dinesh Kumar in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Dehradun (Uttarakhand) on 25.02.2010. The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him.

This is just a miniscule of the mountain of … black money generated at Govt levels, courtesy : by the Govt Officers entrusted with precious responsibility such as the ITO at the grass roots level… ALL the officers of CBDT should be sent for training in vedanta to desist from adharmic work both inside and outside their respective offices. It is very easy to “hide the Bad Money”.But not from the Gods.
