As you are aware the Board has already issued notifications specifying the jurisdictions of CGST Zones and Commissionerates.
2. You are also aware that for hiring office space for the newly created formations, the Delegated Financial Powers given to the HoD have also been enhanced for expeditious action to set up the newly created CGST Divisions and Ranges. I am sure as Zonal heads, you must be ensuring that the new offices become functional for the ease of staff and for being accessible to the trade, on or before 1st July, 2017.
3. Revenue Secretary, on 24.06.2017, reviewed the progress made by the field formations for setting-up new offices in the re-organized CGST formations. During the meeting, he observed that in case hiring of offices for COST & CX Divisions & Ranges is taking time for reasons of identifying suitable premises, want of FRC from CPWD, or any other valid reason, the matter may be taken up by the Chief Commissioners concerned with the Commissioner, Commercial Taxes or with the appropriate authority in the State Government/UT for allowing sharing of space in the local VAT offices, purely as an interim measure, till such time the premises for CGST offices are taken on rent.
