The Goods & Services Tax Council Secretariat issued an Office Memorandum on June 2, 2025, announcing a partial modification to the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Life and Health Insurance. This memorandum updates a previous communication dated September 15, 2024, specifically revising the composition of the GoM. The updated GoM now includes Sh. Samrat Choudhary, Deputy Chief Minister, Bihar, as Convenor, alongside twelve other members. These members hold various ministerial positions, including Finance, Medical Health, and Revenue, representing states such as Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Meghalaya, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana. Notable additions include Chief Ministers from Goa and Meghalaya, and Deputy Chief Ministers from Bihar and Telangana. The memorandum clarifies that all other terms of reference for the GoM on Life and Health Insurance remain unchanged. This modification was issued with the approval of the competent authority and circulated to the GoM members and relevant government officials.
