PMLA Special Court Jurisdiction Revised for Four Himachal Pradesh Districts

Designation of Special Court Under Section 43 of PMLA, 2002 in the State of Himachal Pradesh

Summary: The Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, has issued Notification S.O. 5082(E) dated 16 September 2026 to further amend the Central Government’s notification concerning courts designated under the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA). The notification has been issued in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 43 of the PMLA and in consultation with the Chief Justice of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh. It amends the principal Notification S.O. 372(E) dated 5 February 2016, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii). Specifically, in the table contained in the principal notification, against serial number 9 relating to the State of Himachal Pradesh, the first entries appearing in columns (3) and (4) are substituted. Under the revised entries, the “Additional Sessions Judge (CBI) Shimla” is specified in column (3), while its corresponding territorial jurisdiction in column (4) comprises the districts of Shimla, Kinnaur, Solan and Sirmaur at Nahan of Himachal Pradesh. The notification therefore modifies the relevant court and territorial jurisdiction entries applicable to these Himachal Pradesh districts for purposes of the PMLA framework. S.O. 5082(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 43 of the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002 (15 of 2003) and in consultation with the Chief Justice of High Court of Himachal Pradesh, the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, section 3, sub-section (ii) vide number S.O 372(E), dated the 5th February, 2016 namely:-

In the said notification, in the TABLE, against serial number 9 relating to the State of Himachal Pradesh, for the first entries in columns (3) and (4), the following entries shall respectively be substituted, namely: —
