Vedanta Oil and Gas Limited, a leading private oil and gas exploration and production company in India, has reported a strong financial performance for the second quarter ended 30 September 2026. The company achieved a notable 34% year-on-year increase in EBITDA, reaching ₹1,393 crore, while revenue grew by 7% to ₹2,486 crore. This growth is attributed to higher price realisations and a continued emphasis on cost optimisation.

During the first half of FY27, Vedanta Oil and Gas reported a revenue of ₹4,993 crore, marking an 8% increase compared to the previous year. The company’s profit after tax for the quarter stood at ₹746 crore, reflecting its solid financial footing. The positive financial results were driven by focused production optimisation initiatives, which helped arrest decline trends and achieve a positive reversal at the Ravva field.

The company’s operational performance was bolstered by its efforts in production optimisation, including well interventions and artificial lift optimisation programmes. These initiatives maximised recovery from mature assets in Rajasthan and Ravva, resulting in an average daily gross operated production of 72.2 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (kboepd) in Q2FY27. The total gross oil and gas production for the quarter was 6.6 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe).

Looking ahead, Vedanta Oil and Gas is advancing its exploration and development programme to drive future growth. The company has reported three new discoveries in the Rajasthan block, comprising deep-gas and shallow-oil findings. These discoveries are currently under evaluation for their hydrocarbon potential and commercial viability. Additionally, Vedanta has been awarded two offshore blocks in the Krishna Godavari Basin, which aligns with its strategy to expand its offshore footprint and unlock untapped hydrocarbon potential.

Analysts note that Vedanta Oil and Gas’s disciplined execution and strategic growth initiatives position it well for sustainable long-term value creation. The company’s robust pipeline of projects and focus on enhancing production are expected to contribute positively to India’s energy security and economic growth.
