Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has announced its highest-ever quarterly revenue and profit for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2027, ending September 30, 2026. The company reported a consolidated gross revenue of ₹362,268 crore, marking a 27.8% year-on-year increase. This robust performance was driven by significant growth across its key business segments, including digital services and oil-to-chemicals (O2C).
The quarterly earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) reached a record ₹62,409 crore, up 23.9% from the previous year. The profit after tax (PAT) also saw a substantial rise, hitting a new high of ₹29,550 crore, which represents a 33.8% increase year-on-year. The first half of the fiscal year 2027 saw the PAT surpass the ₹50,000 crore mark, underscoring the company’s strong financial performance.
RIL’s O2C business delivered its best-ever performance, with EBITDA climbing 67.9% year-on-year to ₹25,203 crore. This was largely attributed to a sharp increase in crude and product prices, with transportation fuel prices rising significantly. The digital services segment also performed well, with EBITDA increasing by 17.7% year-on-year to ₹22,223 crore, driven by continued subscriber additions and higher average revenue per user (ARPU).
The company’s capital expenditure for the quarter stood at ₹38,153 crore, primarily focused on investments in O2C and new energy projects, as well as expanding the infrastructure of its consumer businesses. Despite the rise in finance costs and tax expenses, RIL’s net debt-to-EBITDA ratio improved to 0.47, reflecting a strong balance sheet position.
Analysts view RIL’s performance as a testament to its diversified business model and strategic investments in growth areas. The successful market debut of Jio Platforms Limited (JPL), now India’s second most valuable company, further highlights investor confidence in RIL’s growth prospects. As the company continues to expand its digital and energy capabilities, it remains well-positioned to capitalise on emerging opportunities in the evolving market landscape.
