Max Healthcare Institute Ltd., a leading private sector healthcare services company in India, announced its financial results for the second quarter and half-year ending September 30, 2026. The company reported a significant increase in its financial performance, with gross revenue for the quarter reaching ₹3,219 crore, marking a 20% year-on-year growth. The profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter stood at ₹448 crore, reflecting a 10% increase compared to the same period last year.
The robust revenue growth was primarily driven by a rise in occupied bed days (OBDs), with bed occupancy for the quarter at 77%. The operational bed capacity increased by 16% year-on-year, reaching 5,518 beds by the end of September 2026. The company also delivered over 31 lakh episodes of patient services during the quarter, representing a 12% growth year-on-year.
International patient revenue contributed significantly to the financial performance, accounting for approximately 10% of the hospital revenue and growing by 33% year-on-year. Additionally, Max Lab, the non-captive pathology vertical, and Max@Home, the homecare service, reported strong revenue growth of 24% and 37% year-on-year, respectively.
Max Healthcare’s expansion efforts continue with the commencement of services at the new Oncology Block at MSSH, Dwarka, and the approval of capital expenditure for adding 209 brownfield beds across existing hospitals. The company’s shareholding in Kalinga Hospital Limited increased to approximately 66.34% following a rights issue and secondary purchase of shares.
Analysts note that Max Healthcare’s strategic expansion and increased capacity are well-timed to meet the growing demand for healthcare services in India. The company’s focus on medical value travel and its competitive positioning in the global healthcare market are expected to further bolster its growth trajectory.
