Public Notice No. 58 (RE-2001)/1997-2002, issued by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, outlines amendments and additions to the Standard Input Output Norms (SION) for chemicals and engineering products in the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002. Notable corrections involve chemical products like Optical Brightener and Ethion, with adjustments to input norms for materials such as Glyphosate, Reactive Blue 222, and Sulpho Gamma Acid. Engineering product SION entries, such as Electrical Actuators and Copper Bars, are similarly revised to reflect precise material requirements. These updates aim to improve the clarity and accuracy of trade norms, ensuring better compliance with the evolving export-import policies.

Attention is invited to Paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002, as amended and Paragraphs 7.8 and 7.10 of the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.1, 1997-2002, as amended and also to the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.2, 1997-2002, as amended from time to time.
2. In exercise of the powers conferred under Paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002, as amended, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments/modifications and additions in the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.2, 1997-2002, as amended.
3. In the statement of Standard Input Output Norms as contained in the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.2, 1997-2002, as amended, amendments/ corrections at appropriate places as mentioned in Annexure “A” to this Public Notice shall be made.
4. In the statement of Standard Input Output Norms, following additions shall be made at appropriate places as mentioned below:-
CHEMICALS AND ALLIED PRODUCTS
After the existing entry at Sr.No.A-2799, the new entries at Sr.No.A-2800 to A-2801 shall be added as per Annexure ”B” to this Public Notice.
ENGINEERING PRODUCTS
After the existing entry at Sr.No.C-1719, the new entries at Sr.No.C-1720 to C-1735 shall be added as per Annexure ”C” to this Public Notice.
