Public Notice No. 23/2002-07, dated 09th July 2002, issued by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, introduces amendments to the DEPB (Duty Entitlement Pass Book) rates under India’s Export and Import Policy 2002-2007. New entries have also been added for items such as jute soil savers, jute yarn, and sacking cloth. The changes are aimed at ensuring proper export benefits and streamlining the process for claiming DEPB benefits, with specific guidelines on the admissibility of rates for composite products. These updates are issued in public interest to facilitate smoother trade and compliance with the revised policy.

In exercise of powers conferred under paragraph 2.4 of the Export and Import Policy, 2002-07 and paragraph 1.1 of Handbook (Vol.1), the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments/ corrections in the book titled “Schedule of DEPB RateSr.”
1) The following sentence is added at the end of SR.No 11 of “General Instruction For DEPB Rates” pertaining to the admissibility of DEPB rates for composite products with individual constituents having a DEPB rate.
“In such cases, the exporter will have to the declare constituent items (with their respective DEPB entry nos) in the Shipping Bills for claiming DEPB benefit.”
