Public Notice No. 20 (RE-03)/2002-2007, dated 01.08.2003, issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, highlights amendments in the Export and Import Policy 2002-2007 and the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.2. These updates affect the Standard Input Output Norms (SION) related to engineering products. Amendments, corrections, and deletions have been made in various sections of the Handbook, particularly in the engineering product categories. New entries, such as stainless steel braided Teflon hose assemblies and zinc-plated liquid-tight steel fittings with ferrules and locknuts, have been introduced, specifying the materials, dimensions, and content in export products. For instance, the Teflon hose assembly includes stainless steel braided hoses and seamless steel tubes, while the liquid-tight steel fitting incorporates components like alloy steel bars, polypropylene, and LDPE granules. These updates aim to align the procedures with current export requirements and facilitate smoother trade operations.

Attention is invited to Paragraph 2.4 of the Export and Import Policy 2002-2007, as amended and Paragraphs 4.9 and 4.10 of the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.1, 2002-2007, as amended and also to the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.2, 2002-2007, as amended from time to time.
2. In exercise of the powers conferred under Paragraph 2.4 of the Export and Import Policy 2002-2007, as amended, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments/deletions/corrections and additions in the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.2, 2002-2007, as amended.
3. In the statement of Standard Input Output Norms as contained in the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.2, 2002-2007, as amended, amendments/ corrections/ deletion at appropriate places as mentioned in Annexure “A” to this Public Notice shall be made.
4. In the statement of Standard Input Output Norms, following additions shall be made at appropriate places as mentioned below:-
