Notification No. 50 (RE-2005), issued on March 9, 2006, by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, relaxes export conditions under the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2004–2009. The notification permits the export of legally acquired shavings of shed antlers of Chital and Sambhar, along with manufactured articles, for two months. Additionally, registered exporters may send free trade samples of shed antlers, each weighing up to 5 kg, with specific restrictions, such as one sample per item per destination. These samples must not be sold and must be reported to the Regional Deputy Director before shipment. The permission for sending samples applies for 45 days from the notification’s publication. These measures aim to regulate and monitor the export of specified wildlife products while ensuring compliance with legal provisions.

NEW DELHI DATED THE 9TH MARCH, 2006

S.O.(E) In exercise of powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act,1992 read with paragraph 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 1st September, 2004 –31st March, 2009, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the “ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items 1st September, 2004 –31st March, 2009” as under:

(a) The condition stipulated in Column 5 against S. Nos. 39 & 40 of Chapter 5 to Schedule 2 of the “ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items 1st September, 2004 –31st March, 2009” shall be relaxed for a period of two months from the date of Publication of this Notification to allow export of Shavings of Shed Antlers of Chital and Sambhar and Manufactured Articles of Shavings of Shed Antlers of Chital and Sambhar.

(b) Registered Exporters of shed antlers would be permitted to send Free Trade Samples of made up of shed antlers, each weighing not more than 5 Kg. to the foreign buyers, subject to the condition that sale of these samples would not be permitted and only one sample of each item for each destination would be permitted to each registered exporter who will provide details of the party abroad to the concerned Regional Deputy Director before shipment. This will be permitted for 45 days from the date of publication of this notification.
