Notification No. 16 (RE-2001) dated June 26, 2001, issued by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, amends the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002 regarding the export of onions. It adds 50,000 Metric Tonnes of onions for export through various State Trading Enterprises (STEs) and agencies, with specific quantities allocated to each agency, including NAFED, MSAMB, and others. These agencies are authorized to export the onions directly or through registered exporters under the conditions laid out in previous notifications. The export of these additional quantities must be completed by July 31, 2001. Additionally, the shipment period for the unutilized quantity from a previous release (1,50,000 Metric Tonnes) has been extended until the same date. This decision aims to regulate the export of onions in public interest.
