New Delhi, the 26th March, 2021
S.O. 1372(E).—In exercise of powers conferred by section 3 read with section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 (22 of 1992), read with paragraphs 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-2020, as amended from time to time, the Central Government, in partial modification of Notification S.O. 1017(E) dated 3rd March, 2021, hereby notifies that for the quota of 4 Lakh MT for import of Urad [Beans of the SPP Vigna Mungo (L.) Hepper] under HS Codes 0713 3110, 0713 9010 and 0713 9090 of Chapter 7 of ITC (HS), 2017, Schedule – I (Import Policy), import policy of which is “Restricted”; for the fiscal year 2021-22, imports will be allowed to the Millers/ Refiners/ Traders and quota will be allocated equally to pre-determined numbers of applicants, through an algorithm based lottery system, as per procedure to be notified separately, by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade.
2. Effect of the Notification: Annual Quota of 4 Lakh MT of Urad for the fiscal year 2021-22 is notified and will be allowed to be imported by Millers/ Refiners/ Traders. The same will be distributed equally to a pre-determined number of applicants through an algorithm based lottery system.
