The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, issued Trade Notice No. 30/2025-26 dated 03 March 2026 announcing the operationalisation of an Inter-Ministerial Group (IMG) for Supply Chain Resilience. The group has been constituted following a meeting held on 02 March 2026 under the chairmanship of the Special Secretary, Department of Commerce and DG, DGFT to evaluate the impact of ongoing geopolitical developments on India’s exports, particularly disruptions in global supply chains. The IMG will monitor international developments affecting supply chains, assess sector-wise export challenges and critical import vulnerabilities, and facilitate coordination among various Ministries and Departments. It will also engage with stakeholders, including Export Promotion Councils, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures where necessary. Additionally, DGFT has established an internal coordination mechanism to enable real-time monitoring of supply chain issues and inter-agency collaboration. Trade and industry stakeholders have been invited to report supply chain disruptions to DGFT for examination and coordinated action.

Subject: Operationalisation of Inter-Ministerial Group (IMG) for Supply Chain Resilience — regarding.
In pursuance of the decision taken in the meeting held on March 02, 2026 under the Chairmanship of Special Secretary, Department of Commerce & DG, DGFT to assess the impact of ongoing geopolitical developments on India’s exports, particularly supply chain disruptions, an Inter-Ministerial Group (IMG) for Supply Chain Resilience has been constituted under the Department of Commerce.
2. The IMG will monitor global developments affecting supply chains, assess sector-wise export and critical import vulnerabilities, facilitate coordination among Ministries/Departments, engage with stakeholders including Export Promotion Councils, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures, wherever required.
3. An internal coordination mechanism has also been established within DGFT to enable real-time tracking of issues and inter-agency coordination.
4. Trade and industry stakeholders may bring to notice specific issues relating to supply chain disruptions for consolidation and monitoring at adgl-dgft@gov.in for examination and appropriate coordination.
