The Commissioner of Customs (NS-III) at Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House (JNCH), Nhava Sheva, has issued Public Notice No. 17/2025 dated 07.02.2025, urging stakeholders to update mobile numbers and email IDs associated with their Direct Port Delivery (DPD) registration. This initiative aims to strengthen the “One Time Default Intimation” (OTDI) process and enhance transparency. Under the revised system, importers submitting change requests for Container Freight Stations (CFS) will be verified through an OTP sent to their registered mobile number. However, instances of multiple DPD registrations linked to the same email IDs have raised concerns about potential misuse. To address this, the customs office has begun updating contact details in the DPD database with those from Importer Exporter Code (IEC) registration records. Importers may revise these details by following the prescribed procedure and submitting necessary documents via their registered email IDs. All importers are advised to verify changes in their registered information promptly. Any issues should be reported to the Additional Commissioner in charge of the DPD Cell via the official email (dpd-jnch@gov.in). Officers at JNCH have been instructed to treat this notice as a standing order. The notice has been widely circulated among trade associations, including BCBA and FIEO, and uploaded to the JNCH website for broader access.

Public Notice No. 17/2025 Date:- 07.02.2025

Subject:- Updation of Mobile number & E-mail id associated with DPD Registration – reg.

Attention of the Importers, Exporters, General Trade, Port Terminal Operators, Shipping Lines / Shipping Agents, CFSs coming under the jurisdiction of JNCH, Nhava Sheva and all other stakeholders is invited to the OTDI Module of DPD Registration.

1. To strengthen the process with regards to “One Time Default Intimation” and “72 hrs prior intimation”, JNCH introduced the “online module” vide Public Notice No. 13/2020 dated 23.01.2020. Through this module, importers can submit the OTDI / 72 hrs prior intimation request through official email address for change of CFS. As a further safeguard to ensure authenticity of the Importer having sent email from his official email id., an OTP would be sent to the registered mobile number of importers. On completion of authenticity of the Importer through this verification process, any request for change of CFS will get updated on real time basis in the data table available on JNCH website.

2. Recently, it has been brought to our notice that few e-mail ids are registered with multiple DPD Registrations which creates suspicion about the possible misuse of present system by unscrupulous stakeholders. Therefore, to facilitate the trade and improve the transparency, this office has suo-moto initiated the process of changing such mobile numbers and e-mail ids to mobile numbers and e-mail ids available in IEC Registration data of Importer. Importer will have the option to get it changed as per the procedure with submission of requisite documents through their registered e-mail ids.

3. All Importers are requested to check the changes in their registered email ids & mobile numbers in DPD Registration. In case of any difficulty, the specific issue may be brought to the notice of Additional Commissioner in charge of DPD Cell, NS-III (email address: dpd-jnch@gov.in).
