CBIC amends notification no 57/2000-Customs dated 08.05.2000 vide Notification No. 17/2021 – Customs Dated: 17th February, 2021 so as to align it with notification No. 50/2017-Custom dated 30.06.2017.

NOTIFICATION No. 17/2021 – Customs

Dated: 17th February, 2021

G.S.R. 116(E).-In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 57/2000-Customs, dated the 8th May, 2000, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-Section (i) vide number G.S.R. 413 (E), dated the 8th May, 2000, namely:‑

In the said notification, in the Table, in column (4), ‑

(i) for the entry “11.85%”, the entry “6.9%” shall be substituted;

(ii) for the entry “11.00%”, the entry “6.1%” shall be substituted.

Note. The principal notification No. 57/2000-Customs, dated the 8th May, 2000 was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-Section (i) vide number G.S.R. 413 (E), dated the 8th May, 2000 and was last amended by notification No. 24/2020-Customs, dated 21st May, 2020, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-Section (i) vide number G.S.R. 306 (E), dated the 21st May, 2020.
