CBI REGISTERS A DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS CASE AGAINST “PREVENTIVE OFFICER” OF DEPARTMENT OF CENTRAL EXCISE AND CUSTOMS

The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against Preventive Officer, Department of Central Excise and Customs, New Custom House, Fort, Mumbai U/s 13 (2) r/w 13 (1) (e) of PC Act 1988 for possession of alleged Disproportionate Assets to the tune of Rs. 24,64,783/- during the period from 01.11.2013 to 31.10.2017.
Searches were conducted today at the residential premises of accused at Mumbai and Sojat City, District Pali (Rajasthan) which led to recovery of cash of Rs. 17 lakh (approx.); US $ worth Rs. One lakh (approx.); FDRs worth Rs. 16 lakh (approx.) and credit balance of about Rs. 14 lakh (approx.) in different bank accounts and other investment papers.
Investigation is continuing.
