Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), exercising powers under section 68A(1) of the Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008, has amended its earlier notification dated 23 October 2025 relating to the establishment and jurisdiction of Regional Directors for LLP-related matters.
Under the original notification, the Central Government reorganised the Regional Director (RD) framework for Limited Liability Partnerships by establishing ten Regional Directorates across India, each with clearly defined territorial jurisdiction. These Regional Directors were authorised to discharge statutory functions under the LLP Act, 2008 and such functions as may be delegated by the Central Government. The notification originally provided that the new Regional Director structure would come into force from 1 January 2026.
Through the amending notification dated 30 December 2025, the Central Government has deferred the effective date of this reorganisation. The date of commencement has been substituted from “1st January, 2026” to “16th February, 2026.” No changes have been made to the locations, jurisdictions, or powers of the Regional Directors.
Consequently, the existing Regional Director arrangements under the LLP framework will continue to operate until 15 February 2026, and the newly constituted Regional Director structure for LLP matters will become operational from 16 February 2026.
