Summary: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), through notification No. IEC-34011/1/2021-IEC-FSSAI-Part(8) dated 28th September, 2026, has de-notified the Food Safety Officers previously notified for the Fortified Rice Kernel. The notification has been issued in exercise of powers under Section 37 read with Sub-Section 5 of Section 10 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (34 of 2006). The de-notification takes effect from the date of publication of the notification. The officers being de-notified were originally notified through the principal notification bearing the same file number dated 2nd July, 2025, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part III, Section 4, along with subsequent amendments. The notification records that the principal notification was subsequently amended through four notifications: the notification dated 28th August, 2025; the notification dated 4th November, 2025; notification No. RCD-15001/21/2025-Regulatory-FSSAI dated 8th January, 2026; and notification No. RCD-15001/21/2025-Regulatory-FSSAI dated 10th February, 2026. Rajit Punhani, Chief Executive Officer, issued the notification on behalf of FSSAI. The measure therefore formally withdraws the earlier notification of the Food Safety Officers for the Fortified Rice Kernel with effect from publication of the present notification.
