The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) today announced the following results:
1. Chartered Accountants Final Examination (Existing/Revised Scheme) held in May, 2018
2. Foundation Examination held in May, 2018
3. Common Proficiency Test (CPT) held in June, 2018
Since December 1949, the Chartered Accountancy Examination is held twice in a year in the months of May/June and November/December.

E. The brief about pattern of CA Examination
Chartered Accountancy course comprises of 3 levels- Entry level, which is called Common Proficiency Course, Intermediate level and Final level. Exams are being held at all the three levels every half year.
In July 2017, ICAI had introduced New Scheme of Education & Training comprising of 3 levels-Foundation, Intermediate and Final levels.
Exams under the New Scheme of Education & Training were held for the first time in May 2018, concurrently with the exams under the earlier scheme of education. Such parallel exams will be held during the transitional period.
Students have the option to continue in the existing scheme of education or convert to the revised scheme and appear and pass the exams.
The Final exam comprises of two Groups of 4 papers each. Students have the option to appear in either of the Groups or both Groups as per their choice. After passing the CA Final exam, a student is eligible to become a member of the Institute.
Foundation exam comprises of 4 papers. Students have to appear and pass all the papers in one sitting.
Results of the Final Exam held under the Existing as well as the Revised Scheme of Education & Training and also of Foundation Exam held in May, 2018 and the Common Proficiency Test held in June 2018 were declared today by ICAI i.e. on July 20, 2018.
