The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, through a notification dated 24 February 2026 issued under Regulation 159(1) of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, has announced the establishment of a new branch of the Central India Regional Council at Korba, Chhattisgarh, with effect from 6 February 2026. The newly formed branch, named the Korba Branch of the Central India Regional Council, will have its headquarters in Korba city. Its jurisdiction extends beyond Korba to include nearby areas within a 50 km radius, specifically Janjgir, Champa, and Janjgir-Champa. As per sub-regulation (3) of Regulation 159, the branch will function under the control, supervision, and direction of the ICAI Council through the Central India Regional Council and will be required to comply with directions issued from time to time. The notification formalizes administrative expansion to enhance regional professional engagement and governance.

No. 1-CA (7)/241/2026.— In pursuance of the Regulation 159 (1) of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is pleased to notify the setting up of a Branch of Central India Regional Council at Korba city (Chhattisgarh) with effect from 6th February, 2026.
The Branch shall be known as Korba Branch of Central India Regional Council and its Headquarters shall be Korba city (Chhattisgarh). The Jurisdiction of the Branch shall besides Korba city, include the following cities/towns falling within a distance of 50 kms from the city limits of Korba: –
1. Janjgir
2. Champa
3. Janjgir-Champa
As prescribed under sub-regulation (3) of Regulation 159, the Branch shall function subject to the control, supervision and direction of the Council through Central India Regional Council and shall carry out such directions as may, from time to time, be issued by the Council.
