Is B.Com Necessary For CS, CA?

Many students believe that a B.Com degree is one of the prerequisites for the CA program. The answer is no. If you apply via Foundation Route, you don’t need a B.Com degree to become a CA. However, if you apply for the program via the direct entry option, you must have a bachelor’s degree.

It’s absolutely fine if you want to try to catch up with CS just after the 12th without doing B.Com. It is a three-level program following the 12th, i.e. CSEET, Executive or Intermediate Program, and Professional Program. This is an eight-month program, and you want to complete it within three years of your entry into the programme. After passing the CSEET level and being no more than 17 years old, you will move on to the Executive level. This happens immediately after graduation and is often why many people want to take a CS program after B.Com.

Do I need to do B.com for CA?

Students who have passed the 12th exam can choose the basic level exam administered by ICAI. CA’s are considered as one of the highest-paid professionals in India. If you are interested in topics such as tax and accounting, CA can be a great career choice.

Although the topics in the first and second year of the B.Com curriculum are almost identical to those of the CA Foundation courses, the difficulty level of the CA courses is much higher. However, if you are a dedicated and hardworking student, managing both classes should not be a problem.

There is short-term training that you only have to go through at the intermediate level and after the final level. After passing the professional exam, practical training is very important as it makes it easy to gain associate membership at ICSI. You can undertake this training at a company-sponsored by ICSI (Institute of Company Secretaries in India) or under the company secretary who is in practice. After completing your professional level and thus your final training, you will be accepted into the institute as deputy company secretary, and then you will be looking for a job.

CA courses cover advanced knowledge of cash accounting, management accounting, strategic financial management, professional ethics, and information systems control and advanced auditing.

People usually do B.Com. Earn a degree until graduating from CA, which is recognized as a postgraduate degree by several universities in India.

ICAI has made it mandatory to fill out a form with details of office hours or study time. Finally, it is reaffirmed that the prosecution of B.Com. is not a prerequisite for doing CA.
