In a significant development aimed at expediting the resolution of pending appeals, the Hon’ble Chief Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Zone, Sri. Satyendra K Singh, has taken a proactive step for the benefit of taxpayers and professionals in the Rourkela Commissionerate. An official order dated 19-09-23 has been issued to implement this initiative, which promises to bring relief to the taxpayers in the region.

The order, officially designated as Order No. 12/CC/Admn/2023, outlines the plan for Principal Commissioner/Commissioner (Appeal) and Additional Commissioner (Appeal) to conduct camp court sessions in Rourkela. These sessions will occur in the 2nd and 4th weeks of every month, with the primary goal of ensuring the speedy resolution of pending appeal cases related to the Rourkela Central GST & CX Commissionerate.

One of the key aspects of this initiative is the logistical and ministerial support provided by the Rourkela Commissionerate during these camp court sessions. This support is crucial for the seamless functioning of the court proceedings and expeditious disposal of cases.

Furthermore, the Rourkela Commissionerate has been directed to actively sensitize all taxpayers within its jurisdiction about the availability and benefits of this facility. This proactive approach aims to encourage more taxpayers to utilize the camp court sessions to resolve their pending appeal cases efficiently.

The introduction of camp court sessions in the Rourkela Commissionerate by the Hon’ble Chief Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Zone, Sri. Satyendra K Singh, is a welcome step towards enhancing the ease of doing business and ensuring prompt justice for taxpayers. It has been decided by the Chief Commissioner, GST, Central Excise and Customs, Bhubaneswar Zone that the Principal Commissioner/Commissioner (Appeal) and Additional Commissioner (Appeal) will hold camp court in 2nd and 4th weeks of every month at Rourkela for early disposal of pending appeal cases pertaining to Rourkela Central GST & CX Commissionerate. The Rourkela Commissionerate will provide all logistic and ministerial support during the camp court.

Further, Rourkela Commissionerate is also directed to sensitize all the taxpayers in their jurisdiction to avail the benefits of this facility.
