Sub: Additional allocation for increasing MEIS rate for textile sub sectors namely ready made garments and made ups
I am directed to refer to OM No. 01/61/180/68/AM15/PC-3 dated 23.11.2017 seeking additional allocation of Rs. 1143 15 Cr for FY 2017-18 and Rs 685.89 Cr for FY 2018-19 for increasing MEIS rate for ready made garments and textile made ups sector from 2% to 4% for a period of 1.11.2017 to 30.8.2018 and to covey that the Competent Authority has approved additional allocation of Rs. 1143.15 Cr for FY 2017-18 for increasing MEIS rate for ready made and made-ups sector from 2% to 4%. It is further conveyed that on principle of continuity (as explained in DO letter of even no dated 2 11.2018 of Revenue Secretary to Commerce Secretary), rewards for FY 2018-19 we fully supported and no additional allocation for FY 2018-19 is required
