Securities and Exchange Board of India(Portfolio Managers)
(Amendment) Regulations, 2000
S.O. 146 (E) – In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act 1992 (15 of 1992) the Board hereby makes the following Regulations further to amend the Securities and Exchange Board of India(Portfolio Managers) Regulations, 1993 , namely:
I (1) These Regulations may be called the Securities and Exchange Board of India(Portfolio Managers) (Amendment) Regulations ,2000.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
II In the Securities and Exchange Board of India(Portfolio Managers) Regulations, 1993 ,
(1) After Regulation 16, a new Regulation 16A shall be added , namely :
“16A . That the portfolio manager may manage funds raised or collected or brought from outside India accordance with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Foreign Institutional Investors ) Regulations, 1995.”

1.The principal regulation Securities and Exchange Board of India(Portfolio Managers) Regulations 1993 was issued under S.O. No. SEBI/LE/93/III dated January 7 , 1993 published in the Gazette of India.
2. Securities and Exchange Board of India(Portfolio Managers) Regulations 1993 was subsequently amended:
a. by the Securities and Exchange Board of India(Portfolio Managers) (Amendment) Regulations , 1993 issued under S.O. No. 939 (E) published in the Gazette of India dated November 28, 1993.
b. by the Securities and Exchange Board of India(Portfolio Managers) (Amendment) Regulations , 1998 issued under S.O. No. 23 (E) published in the Gazette of India dated January 5,1998.
c. by the Securities and Exchange Board of India(Portfolio Managers) (Amendment) Regulations , 1999 issued under S.O. No. 793 (E) published in the Gazette of India dated September 30,1999.
