Notification No. 4 (RE-99) of 13th April 1999 amends the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items for the year 1997-2002. Specifically, the amendment alters column 5 regarding the import of certain goods. It states that imports under the code 690890 09, categorized as “Others,” are now permitted with a Special Import License (SIL) if the C.I.F. value is US $20 per square meter or more. NEW DELHI: 13th April, 1999

S.O (E) – In exercise of powers conferred under section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 1.3 and 4.1 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items , 1997-2002 published on 31st March, 1997 (RE-98) as amended from time to time, namely –

After amendment, column 5 (Import under SIL/Public Notice) of the following will read as under:-

1 690890 09 Others

Import permitted against Special Import Licence (SIL) provided C.I.F. value is US $ 20 per square metre and above.
