Biocon Limited, a prominent biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Bengaluru, India, has been ranked 13th among the top 20 global employers in the biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, and pharmaceutical sectors by Science magazine in its 2026 survey. This accolade underscores Biocon’s enduring reputation as an employer of choice within the global life sciences industry.

Since its debut on Science Careers’ Top Employers list in 2012, Biocon has consistently maintained its position among the industry’s leading employers. The 2026 survey highlighted Biocon’s commitment to social responsibility, respect for employees, and a culture that aligns with employee values as key attributes contributing to its esteemed ranking.

Shreehas Tambe, CEO and Managing Director of Biocon, expressed pride in the recognition, stating, “I am proud that Biocon has been recognised by Science magazine as one of the world’s top 20 biopharmaceutical employers for the 15th consecutive year. This recognition reflects the talent, passion, and commitment of our people. At Biocon, we believe that great science begins with great people.” He further emphasised the company’s dedication to fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and collaboration, which is central to its mission of making a meaningful difference to patients worldwide.

Biocon’s people-centric approach continues to be a significant differentiator, enhancing its employer brand on a global scale. With a workforce representing 37 nationalities across more than 60 cities worldwide, Biocon leverages diverse perspectives and expertise to advance its mission of delivering life-changing medicines to patients globally.

The Science and Science Careers’ 2026 Top Employers Survey, conducted by an independent research firm, involved approximately 5,100 participants from North America, Europe, and the Asia/Pacific Rim. Respondents rated companies based on 24 characteristics, including corporate image, financial prowess, leadership, and work culture. The findings were analysed by The Brighton Consulting Group, which used a mathematical process to determine the driving characteristics of a top employer.

Biocon’s recognition in this prestigious survey highlights its commitment to sustainable and responsible growth, as evidenced by its inclusion in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2026 for the fourth consecutive year. This accolade reinforces Biocon’s position as a leader in the global biopharmaceutical landscape.
