Summary: The Regulatory Update concerns a Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) notification dated 13th July, 2026, issued under Section 43(1) of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, amending the notification S.O. 3648(E) dated 6th December, 2016 relating to notified food laboratories. The amendments substitute the entry for Food Laboratory Kashmir, Srinagar in the Northern Region with Chemical accreditation; omit the existing entry for Geo-Chem Laboratories Private Limited, Mumbai and insert a new entry for GEO-CHEM Laboratories Private Limited, Navi Mumbai with Biological and Chemical accreditation in Maharashtra; substitute the entry for Shriram Research Institute, Bengaluru and add Divisional Food Laboratory Kalaburagi with Chemical accreditation in Karnataka; substitute the entry for MATS India Pvt. (Laboratory Services Division), Chennai with Biological and Chemical & Radiological accreditation and omit Nawal Analytical Labs India Private Limited, Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu; and substitute the entry for MEGSAN LABS PRIVATE LIMITED, Hyderabad with Biological and Chemical accreditation in Telangana.
