The Supreme Court condoned the delay and disposed of the writ petition concerning menstrual leave for working women. The Court noted that the petitioner had already brought the issues to the notice of the authorities and had made sufficient efforts to promote the welfare of young working women. It observed that there was no need for the petitioner to repeatedly approach the Court seeking a positive mandamus. The Court expressed confidence that the competent authority would consider the observations made in its earlier orders dated 24.02.2023 and 08.07.2024 for formulating a model policy for consideration by stakeholders. All pending applications were also disposed of.
COURT JUDGMENT/ORDER
1. Delay condoned.
2. The petitioner has already brought to the notice of the Authorities the issues sought to be raised in this writ petition. It seems to us that the petitioner has fulfilled his endeavours required at his end to promote the welfare of young working women. There is no need for the petitioner to approach the Court repeatedly and seek a positive mandamus.
3. We have no reason to doubt that the competent Authority shall earnestly consider the observations already made by this Court in orders dated 24.02.2023 and 08.07.2024 passed in W.P(C) No.172/2023 and W.P.(C) No.327/2024 respectively, for the purpose of formulating a Model policy for consideration by all stakeholders.
