FSSAI Notifies 85 New Food Safety Officers for Fortified Rice Enforcement

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), through a notification dated 10th February 2026, has amended its earlier notification published on 2nd July 2025 to appoint additional Food Safety Officers (FSOs) specifically for Fortified Rice Kernel. Exercising powers under Sub-Section (5) of Section 10 read with Section 37 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, the Authority inserted new entries from Serial No. 370 to 454 in the existing table of notified officers. These appointments take effect from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. The notification forms part of a continuing regulatory update process, with the principal notification having been last amended on 8th January 2026. By expanding the list of designated FSOs, the Authority strengthens enforcement and monitoring mechanisms relating to fortified rice, ensuring regulatory oversight and compliance under the statutory framework governing food safety standards in India.

No. RCD-15001/21/2025-Regulatory-FSSAL—In exercise of the powers conferred under Sub-Section 5 of Section 10 read with Section 37 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (34 of 2006), the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India hereby notifies the following officers as Food Safety Officers for the Fortified Rice Kernel with effect from the date of publication in this notification by amending the principal notification, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part III, Section 4 dated the 2n^d July, 2025:-

In the table, after Sr. no. 369, the following entries shall be inserted, namely,-
