Your Honor are well aware that this year, professionals are busy in making compliance with GST obligations. GST Act is new, compliances are many, notifications are being issued everyday and the technical glitches in the system have aggravated the problems. Further dates are being extended everyday and the professionals have to make the compliances on daily basis. Accordingly, professionals are finding a very short time for making compliance with the income tax obligations.

Government of India has announced that during the Financial Year 2017-18, accumulations at the credit of subscribers to the General Provident Fund (GPF) and other similar funds shall carry interest at the rate of 7.8% (Seven point eight per cent) with effect from 1st October, 2017 to 31st December, 2017. This rate will be in force w.e.f. 1st October, 2017.

Refund on Export under GST Regime

Export will be treated as zero rated supplies. No tax will be payable on export of Goods or Services, however ITC will be available, and the same will be available as refund to the exporters. The exporter will have an option to either pay tax on the output or claim refund of IGST or export under bond without payment of IGST or claim refund of ITC.

It has come to notice that many exporters are not submitting separate 6 monthly negative statement of the Authorized Dealer/CA in the prescribed format, i.e., for the period January –June/July – December for every year after 01.01.2004. As a result the details of export proceeds for export shipments made during the period of 6 months are not properly reflected.
