Trade Circular No. 19T of 2015 A dealer seeking registration under the Maharashtra Value added Tax Act, 2002 submits an online application for registration along with the required documents. The Registration Officer to whom such application gets allocated generates the TIN if the application is found to be correct and is supported with the appropriate documents.
Under the Maharashtra Value Added Tax Act, 2002, every dealer is required to pay tax within the prescribed time. If payment of such tax is delayed, then interest under Section 30 of the Maharashtra Value Added Tax Act, 2002 is attracted. The dealer is liable to pay interest as per the rate prescribed in Rule 88(1) of Maharashtra Value Added Tax Rules, 2005.
The last date for submission of audit report u/s 61 of the MVAT Act 2002, for the period 201415 is 15th January 2016. After uploading their audit reports for the period 2014-15, the dealers shall submit the following documents
One and a quarter per cent of the amount of such tax, for the month or for part thereof for the first month of delay and one and a half percent of the amount of such tax, for each month or for part thereof for delay beyond one month up to three months.
The State Government has issued notifications on 30th September 2015, which have already been made available on the Department’s web site. By virtue of the notification No. VAT.1515/C.R.128A/Taxation 1, dated 30th September 2015 the schedule rates of tax on certain commodities have been increased with effect from the 1st October 2015.
As per the provisions of section 86(3) of the MVAT Act 2002 a dealer, liable to pay tax under the Act, is required to issue to the purchaser either a tax invoice or a bill or a cash memo. Such tax invoice, bill or cash memo should be serially numbered, signed and dated by him or his servant, manager or agent.
