U.K. Sinha Appointed as Chairman of SEBI

Shri U.K. Sinha, (IAS: 1976: Bihar, voluntarily retired in 2008) presently Chairman and Managing Director, UTI AMC, has been appointed as the Chairman, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), initially for a period of three years with effect from the date he assumes charge of the post on or after February 18, 2011 or till he attains the age of sixty five years or until-further orders, whichever is earlier. A Notification to this effect has been issued today by the Ministry of Finance.
