Dear Sir,

Subject : Offshore derivative Instrument issued by Registered FIIs

This refers to Circular IMD/CUST/8/2003 dated august 2003, advising FIIs to report issuance of Participatory Noted / Offshore Derivative Instruments against underlying Indian Securities as per the revised format.

In this regard we clarify the following :

The FIIs shall submit the Reports via E-mail to the following address ONLY.
[email protected] And NOT to [email protected] or [email protected]

Email should contain Subject line giving FII name, registration number, and report period for example :

XYZ Global Allocation Fund Inc. :: IN-US-FA-0005-95 FOR September I, 2003

Note :

September I stands for report ‘First Fortnight of the month’ and

September II stands for report ‘Second Fortnight of the month’.

1. All the Foreign Institutional Investors who do not deal in / issue Offshore Derivative Instrument against underlying Indian Securities shall submit a ‘Nil-Report’ as per Circular IMD/CUST/8/2003 dated August 8, 2003.

2. ‘Nil-Report’ may be submitted by way of declaration without Annexure ‘B’ attachment.

A copy of the circular is also available at the web page “Foreign Institutional Investors” on our website www.sebi.gov.in . The custodians are requested to bring the contents of this circular to the notice of their FII clients and submit the compliance confirmation in this regard by October 1, 2003.
