MESSAGE
Dear Members of the Income Tax family,
It has been an honour being the head of this Department which works with such professionalism and efficiency. As head of the Income Tax family, it has always been my endeavour to take the Department to greater heights. This would not have been possible, but for the unstinted support of each and every one of you who have worked tirelessly and with utmost dedication to take forward the initiatives of the Department. I wish to place on record, my deepest gratitude to each and every member of the IT family for standing with me to uphold the honour of the Service.
As I demit office today to take up a new assignment, it is with mixed feelings that I move ahead. It has been a long, challenging and satisfying journey for me. My heart swells with pride on seeing the giant strides that the Department has taken in becoming a more technology driven and taxpayer friendly organisation, committed to collect the revenue expected of us, while not losing sight of the citizen-centric initiatives that have been the cornerstone of our administration in the last few years. I feel extremely happy to have been part of this exciting journey, having contributed to it in the best way I could. I carry with me happy memories of the Department and I look forward to see the Department rise to greater heights.
I hope that, in the days to come, you will continue to work with the same enthusiasm, integrity and commitment as you have done so far, and will take the Department from strength to strength.
I also hope that you will continue to extend your wholehearted support to the new Chairman, CBDT and I am sure that the Department will scale further heights under his stewardship.
