The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance’s Department of Revenue and the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), issued Notification No. 16 of 2024, promoting 21 Joint Commissioners of Income Tax to the Non-Functional Selection Grade (NFSG). This elevation is in Pay Level 13 of the pay matrix (Pay Band-4: Rs. 37,400–67,000 with Grade Pay of Rs. 8,700, pre-revised). The promotions are effective notionally from January 1, 2022. Officers promoted include Amitava Sen, Rajeshwari R Menon, and Jayanta Khanra, among others. A Hindi version of this notification will follow. The promotion details were circulated to relevant officers, Chief Commissioners, and other concerned departments for necessary action.
