The Maharashtra Government has designated Wednesday (2 pm to 5 pm) as Taxpayers’ Day wherein Zonal/ Divisional/ Unit heads of all offices will meet the taxpayers/ other stakeholders in their chambers without any prior appointment to address their grievances relating to Sales Tax expeditiously. Further, it is declared that Service Cell Meeting of all dealers and their representatives will be held on first Saturday of third month of even quarter (i.e. June, September, December and March) at all the divisional levels.

Subject: Designation of Wednesday as Taxpayers’ reg
The Government has been placing great emphasis on taxpayer-friendly tax administration as part of its initiatives to improve ease of doing business. In this direction, the State Government has taken several initiatives in the recent past to facilitate trade.
2. It is reiterated that the Department considers all taxpayers as the cornerstone of our economic independence and prosperity. To further the Government’s objective to ensure responsive governance, it has been decided to designate one day of the week viz., Wednesday (2 pm to 5 pm) as Taxpayers’ Day wherein Zonal/Divisional/Unit heads of all offices will meet the taxpayers/other stakeholders in their chambers without any prior appointment in order to address their grievances relating to Sales Tax expeditiously.
3. Further, it is declared that Service Cell Meeting of all dealers and their representatives will be held on first Saturday of third month of every quarter (i.e. June, September, December and March) at all the divisional levels.
