An Office Memorandum from the Goods & Services Tax Council Secretariat, dated June 10, 2025, announces a revised composition for the Group of Ministers (GoM) tasked with Restructuring Compensation Cess. This update modifies an earlier memorandum from September 25, 2024. The GoM will now be convened by Shri Pankaj Chaudhary, the Union Minister of State for Finance. Its members include the Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister of Madhya Pradesh (Sh. Jagdish Devda), the Minister of Finance and Women and Child Development of Assam (Smt. Ajanta Neog), the Minister of Finance of Chhattisgarh (Sh. Om Prakash Choudhary), the Minister of Finance of Gujarat (Sh. Kanubhai Desai), the Minister of Revenue of Karnataka (Sh. Krishna Byre Gowda), the Minister of Finance of Punjab (Sh. Harpal Singh Cheema), the Minister of Finance and Environment Climate Change of Tamil Nadu (Sh. Thangam Thennarasu), the Minister of Finance and Parliamentary Affairs of Uttar Pradesh (Sh. Suresh Kumar Khanna), and the Minister of Finance of West Bengal (Smt. Chandrima Bhattacharya). All other terms of reference for the GoM remain unchanged, and this modification has been approved by the competent authority.
