CBI REGISTERS A CASE AGAINST POSTAL OFFICIAL ON THE ALLEGATIONS OF MISAPPROPRIATION OF RS.1.62 CRORE (APPROX) AND CONDUCTS SEARCHES
The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against then Sub Postmaster, Chintapalli Post Office, Nalgonda Division, Nalgonda, Telengana on the allegations that the accused received the reports in respect of Social Security Pension Accounts from the Branch Post Offices (BPMs) including Gadia Gowraram Branch Post Office, Injamur Branch Post office, Kurmapalli Branch Post Office, Nasarlapalli Branch Post Office, Madanapur Branch Post Office, Takkalapalli Branch Post Office and Kurmed Branch Post Office. It was further alleged that the accused exaggerated the said reports by changing the amounts in the reports of BPMs in his computer ID and shown as if the above said Branch Post Offices had generated the said reports and thus he misappropriated an amount of Rs. 1,62,50,000/- (approx).
Searches were conducted at the premises of accused in Devarkonda, Nalgonda (Telangana).
Investigation is continuing.
