In an advisory issued by Team GSTN on August 21, 2025, the due date for filing the GSTR-3B return for the July 2025 tax period has been extended. The extension applies to five districts in Maharashtra State: Mumbai (City), Mumbai (sub-urban), Thane, Raigad, and Palghar. The decision was made in response to a natural calamity caused by heavy rainfall in these areas.
The original due date for the GSTR-3B filing was August 20, 2025. This has now been pushed back to August 27, 2025. The advisory references Notification No. 12/2025 – Central Tax, dated August 20, 2025, which was issued by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and provides further details on the extension.

In view of the natural calamity caused by heavy rains, the due date of GSTR-3B for the July-2025 tax period has been extended from 20th August, 2025 to 27th August, 2025 for the following districts of Maharashtra state:
