State-run Corporation Bank today launched a mobile wallet which makes it possible to make purchases using a mobile handset. Under the scheme, christened ‘ypaycash’, an account-holder can pay for purchases through the mobile handset, provided the merchant has the system installed. The service, which comes free for Corporation Bank customers, can be availed by asking the Bank to transfer up to Rs 5,000 from a savings or current account to the mobile wallet.

Ahead of the meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Chinese President Hu Jintao, India today said trade imbalance in favour of China was a matter of concern and India had sought greater market access to bridge it. Amid controversy over leakage of telephonic conversations involving top industrialists, corporate lobbyist Niira Radia and others, the Finance Ministry has asked the DoT to enquire into the conduct of telecom operators and identify individuals involved in it. DoT (Department of Telecom) will have to conduct a further enquiry to establish leakage of the telephonic intercepts in the end of telecom service providers, to identify actual individuals who are involved in this,” Finance Ministry said in a communication to Telecom Secretary R Chandrashekhar.

Ambani may get a total of over Rs 1 crore of annual compensation in cash and stocks, going by the bank’s director compensation policy.
The government today said it will continue to focus on fiscal consolidation and would stick to the deficit target for the current fiscal, despite the uncertainty over global crude oil prices. “We are on the fiscal consolidation path. We don’t want to occupy more space in the public borrowing, and we will stick to our fiscal deficit target and our revenue deficit target,” Finance Secretary Sushma Nath said at a CII conference here.
