Mumbai, October 27, 2026: Cipla Limited, a leading global pharmaceutical company, announced its unaudited consolidated financial results for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2027, ending September 30, 2026. Despite a 2% year-on-year decline in total income from operations, which stood at INR 7,404 crore compared to INR 7,589 crore in the same period last year, the company demonstrated robust performance in key markets, maintaining its strategic focus on growth and innovation.

Cipla’s One-India business achieved its highest quarterly sales, growing by 12% year-on-year, driven by strong demand in branded prescription and trade generics. The North American market also showed resilience, with revenue reaching $172 million, supported by strategic milestones such as the FDA approval of gAdvair Diskus and a partnership with Qilu Pharmaceutical for a Keytruda biosimilar. However, the North American segment faced a 19% year-on-year revenue decline, reflecting broader market challenges.

The company’s EBITDA for the quarter was INR 1,388 crore, with a margin of 18.7%, a decrease from 25% in the previous year. Profit after tax (PAT) also saw a decline, standing at INR 878 crore compared to INR 1,351 crore in Q2FY26. Despite these challenges, Cipla maintained a strong net cash position of INR 9,823 crore, with debt primarily comprising lease liabilities and working capital requirements.

Cipla’s performance in other regions was mixed. The One Africa business, including South Africa, experienced a slight decline in revenue, while the Emerging Markets and Europe segment maintained stable revenue despite geopolitical uncertainties. The company’s R&D investments amounted to INR 423 crore, focusing on product filings and development programs, underscoring its commitment to innovation and market expansion.

Analysts note that Cipla’s strategic initiatives and focus on core markets have positioned it well for future growth, despite the current revenue challenges. The company’s strong cash position and ongoing investments in R&D are expected to support its long-term objectives and enhance its competitive edge in the global pharmaceutical industry.
