Bank of India has announced its unaudited financial results for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2027, showcasing a significant improvement in both profitability and business growth. The bank’s net profit surged by 25.34% year-on-year, reaching ₹3,202 crore for Q2 FY27, compared to ₹2,555 crore in the same period last year. This growth was underpinned by a substantial increase in operating profit, which rose by 33.19% to ₹5,089 crore from ₹3,821 crore in Q2 FY26.

The bank’s global business expanded by 21.13% year-on-year, amounting to ₹18,92,601 crore as of September 2026. This growth was driven by a 21.59% increase in global deposits, which reached ₹10,37,530 crore, and a 20.58% rise in global advances, which totalled ₹8,55,071 crore. Notably, the bank’s Retail, Agriculture, and MSME (RAM) advances grew by 18.68% year-on-year, constituting 58.63% of the total advances.

Key profitability ratios also showed improvement, with the cost-to-income ratio decreasing by 507 basis points year-on-year to 47.95%. The bank’s return on assets (ROA) increased by 10 basis points to 1.01%, while the return on equity (ROE) rose by 142 basis points to 16.36%. Additionally, the net interest margin (NIM) on a global scale improved by 6 basis points to 2.47%.

Asset quality metrics reflected positive trends, with the gross non-performing asset (NPA) ratio improving by 94 basis points year-on-year to 1.60%, and the net NPA ratio declining by 23 basis points to 0.42%. The provision coverage ratio stood at 94.45%, indicating a robust buffer against potential credit losses.

Market analysts view Bank of India’s strong performance as a reflection of its strategic focus on expanding its business operations and improving asset quality. The bank’s emphasis on enhancing profitability through increased operational efficiency and a diversified credit portfolio has positioned it well amidst a competitive banking landscape. As the bank continues to leverage its growth momentum, stakeholders remain optimistic about its future financial trajectory.
