The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, issued Public Notice No. 40/2025-26 dated 19 December 2025, amending Part B of Appendix 4B of the Handbook of Procedures, 2023, under the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), 2023. Exercising powers under paragraphs 1.03 and 2.04 of the FTP, the amendment revises the list of banks authorised by the Reserve Bank of India to import only gold for FY 2025-26, effective from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026. The updated list includes Indian Overseas Bank and Union Bank of India for the full period, and additionally includes SBER Bank with a restricted authorisation. SBER Bank is permitted to import gold solely for domestic consumption, with validity from 25 June 2025 until 31 March 2026. The public notice clarifies that this inclusion is limited in scope and duration, and formally updates Appendix 4B to reflect the revised authorisation framework governing gold imports by designated banks.

F. No. 01/94/180/261/AM18/PC-4.—In exercise of the powers conferred under paragraphs 1.03 & 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), 2023, as amended from time to time, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments in Part B under Appendix 4B of Handbook of Procedure, 2023:
1. LIST OF BANKS AUTHORISED BY RESERVE BANK OF INDIA TO IMPORT ONLY GOLD FOR FY 2025-26 WITH EFFECT FROM 01.04.2025 AND VALID UPTO 31.03.2026.
