PUBLIC NOTICE No. 49 (RE-99) /1997-2002

NEW DELHI: the 27th January, 2000

Attention is invited to Public Notice no. 39 (RE-99) dated 16.11.99 read with Public Notice no. 43 dated 15.12.99 according to which all IEC holders are required to modify/update the IEC issued in their favour on the DGFT website itself. Several representations have been received to the effect that many IEC holders have not been successful in updating the data because of some technical problems.

In exercise of powers conferred under paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, as notified in the Gazette of India extraordinary, Part-II- Section 3 – Sub- section (ii) vide S.O No. 283(E) dated 31.3.97, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby extends the last date for modifying/updating the data upto 29.2.2000. It is further clarified that only the hardcopy of the information fed on the website duly signed by Proprietor/Partner of the firm or Director of the Company has to be submitted to the concerned licensing Authority. The hardcopy is not required to be accompanied by any other document like photograph, fee etc. even in cases where there is change in the status of the IEC holder.

This issues in public interest.
