The Government of India, through Notification No. 13 (RE-2004)/(2004-2009), dated December 31, 2004, made an amendment to the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items for the period 2004-2009. The amendment, which comes into effect on January 1, 2005, involves the deletion of the entry at Sl. No. 2 in Table A under the heading “Goods Falling in More than One Chapter of ITC (HS) Classification.” This change was made under the powers conferred by the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, and in accordance with Paragraphs 2.1 and 2.29 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009. The deletion is issued in the public interest to streamline the classification of export and import items.

S.O.(E) In exercise of powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with Paragraph 2.1 and 2.29 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-2009, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the Table A of Schedule 2 of ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import items, 2004-2009:-
The entry at Sl. No.2 of Table-A under heading “ Goods Falling in More than One Chapter of ITC (HS) Classification” may be deleted with effect from January 01, 2005.
