Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has amended the export policy for de-oiled rice bran, prohibiting its export until September 30, 2025. This change, notified under Notification No. 56/2024-25-DGFT dated February 4, 2025, modifies the earlier notification (No. 23/2024-25) issued in August 2024. The revised policy falls under Chapter 23 of Schedule-II (Export Policy), ITC(HS) 2022, restricting exports under multiple subcategories of bran, oil cake, and residues from cereals and seeds. The amendment is made under Section 3 and Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, in alignment with the Foreign Trade Policy 2023. The move aims to regulate domestic supply and price stability. The notification was issued by Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Director General of Foreign Trade.

Subject: Amendment in Export Policy of De-Oiled Rice Bran -reg

S.O. (E). — In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 read with section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with Para 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2023, as amended from time to time, the Central Government hereby, in amendment of the earlier Notification No. 23/2024-25 dated 16th August 2024, makes the following changes in Export Policy conditions under Chapter 23 of Schedule-II(Export Policy), ITC(HS) 2022 :

2306 90 19 – Other — Oil-cake and oil-cake meal, expeller variety: —- Of other seeds Free Export of De-oiled Rice Bran is ‘Prohibited’ till 30th September 2025.
2306 90 29 – Other — Oil-cake and oil-cake meal, solvent extracted (defattcd) variety: —- Of other seeds Free Export of Dc-oiled Rice Bran is Prohibited till 30th September 2025.
2306 90 90 – Other — Other Free Export of De-oiled Rice Bran is ‘Prohibited’ till 30th September 2025.
