The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, issued Notification No. 64/2025-26 dated 18 March 2026 amending the import policy under Chapter 95 of ITC (HS), 2022 – Schedule I. Exercising powers under Sections 3 and 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, and relevant provisions of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, the Central Government has deleted Policy Condition No. 2 (iii) under Chapter 95 with immediate effect. The notification clarifies that the specified policy condition is no longer applicable from the date of issuance. The amendment has been approved by the Minister of Commerce and Industry. The effect of this notification is limited to the removal of the said policy condition, thereby modifying the applicable import policy framework under Chapter 95.

Subject: Amendment in Policy condition No.2 to Chapter 95 of ITC (HS), 2022 – Schedule 1 (Import Policy).
S.O. 1410(E).: In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 read with Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with Paragraphs 1.02 and 2.03 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, as amended from time to time, the Central Government hereby deletes Policy Condition No. 2 (iii) under Chapter 95 of ITC (HS), 2022 — Schedule I (Import Policy), with immediate effect.
Effect of this Notification: Policy Condition No. 2 (iii) of Chapter 95 of ITC (HS), 2022 —Schedule I (Import Policy) stands deleted with immediate effect.
This notification is issued with the approval of the Minister of Commerce & Industry.
