NOTIFICATION NO. 58/2009-14, NEW DELHI, DATED 17th AUGUST, 2010

S.O. (E) In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with Para 1.3 and 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2009-14, and also read with Notification No. 26 (RE 2008)/2004-09 dated 22.7.2008 and Notification No. 44/2009-14 dated 21.05.2010, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the Schedule 2, Table B of ITC HS Classifications of Export and Import Items as under:-

2. With immediate effect, existing entries against S. No. 161 A of the table at the end of Para 2 of Notification No. 44 /2009-14 dated 21.05.2010 shall be substituted as follows:

The contracts for export of cotton shall be registered with the Textile Commissioner prior to shipment. Clearance of cotton consignments by Customs should be after verifying that the contracts have been registered.

    Need one clarificaiton plesae,

    does it mean, cotton export will not attarct any duty now, which was levied earlier to arrest the increase in the cotton price
