                Notification No. 102/2004-Customs (N.T)

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1)  of section 156 read with Chapter XA of the Customs Act, 1962  (52 of 1962), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2003, namely:-

1. ( i ) These rules may be called the Special Economic Zones (Fifth Amendment) Rules, 2004.

(ii) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2.  In Special Economic Zone Rules, 2004, –

(i)  in rule 2, for clause (e), the following shall be substituted, namely:-

” (e) Foreign Trade Policy” means the Foreign Trade Policy, 1st September, 2004-31st March, 2009 published by the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry vide notification No.1/2004-09, dated the 31st August, 2004, as amended from time to time,”.

(ii) for the words ” Export and Import Policy” wherever they occur, the words ” Foreign Trade Policy” shall be substituted.

Note:    The principal rules were published in the Gazette of India vide notification No. 52/2003-Customs( NT), dated the 22nd July, 2003  [G.S.R 570(E), dated the 22nd July, 2003] and was last amended by notification No. 61/2004-Customs (N.T), dated the 11th May, 2004 [G.S.R 305( E), dated the 11th May, 2004.].
